2016 RTG City Relevance Report Released – Recent Chinese Tourism Trends and Insights

In association with Hearst China, RTG Consulting Group’s research division, Intuition, has released a new study. The “2016 RTG City Relevance Report (US Edition)” is a study ranking US cities by relevance to Chinese outbound tourists. Interesting findings include NYC topping the overall city index, scoring highest with Food & Beverage, Shopping, Attractions & Landmarks, Culture, Art & Heritage, Infrastructure & Facilities, and Accommodation & Service.

Ferrari’s First V8 Four-Seater Makes Debut in China
Representing a groundbreaking new Ferrari GT concept, Ferrari celebrated the China Premiere of their new GTC4Lusso T at the 2016 Auto Guangzhou last month. The new model offers an even wider group of driving enthusiasts the opportunity to experience the unbridled thrill of the Prancing Horse. For this special occasion, Ferrari also worked with actor William Feng  (Feng ShaoFeng 冯绍峰) to shoot a  video clip showcasing GTC4Lusso T’s supreme performance.

LOUIS XIII Presents “Everyday Legend” Exhibition: 今天重做

The “Everyday Legend” (今天重做) art exhibition, with Chief Honorary Sponsor LOUIS XIII, was recently unveiled at the Shanghai’s Minsheng Art Museum. The exhibition, representing the 3rd year of the Heritage Past Present campaign, a creative platform developed by RTG and New Century Art Foundation, showcases a group of contemporary Chinese paintings, sculptures, installations and animations. “Everyday Legend” represents the interplay of Chinese contemporary art and traditional and rare Chinese crafts.

Panel on the Global Consumer and Tourism
In November, our CEO Angelito Tan, along with 3 other experts in the consumer and tourism sectors, participated in a panel on “Culture and Global Tourism” in New York City. The private event took place at Spring Studios SOHO, and was hosted by Value Retail - a company exclusively specialized in the creation and operation of luxury outlet shopping destinations across Europe and China.

AmorePacific, L Catterton Shrug Off China’s Korean Culture Ban

China’s apparent ban of South Korean celebrity endorsements and cultural exports poses a risk to Korean companies’ business in the country but both AmorePacific (Korea’s largest cosmetics conglomerate) and L Catterton (LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-backed fund formerly known as L Capital) Asia seem to be taking the news in stride. RTG Consulting Group recently weighed in on the matter with Women’s Wear Daily (WWD).
