LOUIS XIII recently unveiled L’ODYSSÉE D’UN ROI, a unique collaboration inspired by the first shipments of LOUIS XIII in the late 1870s and the iconic journeys that followed to the farthest corners of the globe. Three French luxury houses HERMÈS, PUIFORCAT and SAINT-LOUIS were chosen as LOUIS XIII’s traveling companions and were featured to create a series of three unique objets d’art. Sotheby’s will auction each masterpiece in New York, Hong Kong and London this year, with proceeds benefiting THE FILM FOUNDATION.

Ermenegildo Zegna Presents “Ode to an Informal Man”
Ermenegildo Zegna presents their latest short film “Ode to an Informal Man” to celebrate the launch of the Ermenegildo Zegna 2016 Spring/Summer Collection that brings a new interpretation of the contemporary wardrobe for men. Denoted by a strong sense of humor, the short film portrays the “elegance of ease” of modern men and their corresponding “chic lifestyle.”

Generation Z Spells Trouble for Brands Relying on Chinese Tourists
In a reversal of the more materialistic tendencies of their parents, almost 95% of Chinese Generation Z consumers say it is essential for brands to be sustainable and environmentally conscious. Brands that have not yet begun to prioritize sustainability and reduce their carbon footprint and have instead banked on a globalizing economy and/or Chinese tourists will only be more pressed to adapt as time goes on.

Social Commerce Takes Off in Asia

The widespread use of social media platforms is transforming the e-commerce landscape in Asia. In China for example, mobile-based app Xiaohongshu (otherwise known as Red), initially started as a social media platform in 2013 for people to share information about their cross-border purchases. Now, it has grown into an e-commerce giant and is one of the most popular social commerce platforms in China. RTG Intuition has also noted that individual vendors are rapidly sprouting through social media, selling through major social media platforms such as WeChat and Weibo.
